What it does

Pays a lump sum for a covered disease or condition diagnosed on or after the coverage effective date. You choose how to use the benefit, including nonmedical household expenses.

Covered conditions

Examples include cancer, heart attack, stroke and major organ failure. The benefit schedule pays 100% of the elected benefit for these conditions and 25% for coronary artery bypass, subject to policy definitions and limitations.

What does Critical Illness Insurance cover?

How many times can a benefit be paid?

The number of payments for each covered condition is unlimited, except skin cancer. The certificate of coverage explains the conditions, exclusions and limitations.

Are my children eligible for coverage?

Eligible insured children can receive a lump-sum benefit for each covered condition, up to 100% of their benefit amount. The children’s benefit amount is 50% of the employee benefit amount; see the certificate for covered conditions.
