Start · After Open Enrollment
Something changed in my life. What do I do?
During the year, only a life event opens a change.
When can I change my benefits during the year?
What counts
Life events
Marriage, divorce, birth or adoption, death of a dependent, gaining or losing other health coverage, or a move, including entering the country.
Send proof
Within 30 days of reporting it. New dependents: upload their documents within 30 days, or they are removed.
When it starts
Changes take effect when you report them. The quick reference guide is in Oracle under Help Desk, My Knowledge.
Next step
Report a life event in Oracle within 60 days, then send proof within 30.
A permitted life change may allow an election change midyear.
Examples of qualifying changes
- Marriage or divorce.
- Birth or adoption.
- Death of a dependent.
- Gain or loss of other health coverage.
Otherwise, elections continue
Elections normally remain in effect for the calendar year unless a qualifying event permits a change. Annual open enrollment typically occurs in November, but actual dates come from enrollment communications.
