HSA Basics
The HSA is available with the Healthy Savings Plan, subject to HSA eligibility. Money is portable and yours to keep. It can earn interest or investment returns and pay qualified medical expenses.
Elect from $0 up to $4,500 for yourself or $9,000 with dependents. If age 55 or older, you may add $1,000.
Tax treatment and timing
Contributions are pre-tax, all the growth in the account grows tax free, and a withdrawal for a qualified expense is tax free. This account has what the IRS calls a triple tax advantage. Contributions can be changed anytime.
